Okay, but...

I like the graphics and the style, but give each of your characters a mouth rather than bobbing their head. And have them talk with the vocals. I know lip syncing can be a pain but it looks better if you do it. Other than that, the characters are fine and your graphics have a nice style.

On a side note, it was really only a little funny. Really good humor has to be fast, sharp, witty, and definitely unexpected.

This is a good movie to build upon, and if you continue with it and have more stuff happen, I'm sure it can turn out to be great. Good luck with it.

Nickl25 responds:

Reason why the animation was so "poor" was because it was done in just 2 hours on a whim. I really didn't care how in came out as long as I got it done. Thanks for the review tho.

Good, but...

Holy cow was it short. Your graphics are almost perfect and the animation was very smooth, but why did you stop so soon? I would have loved to see more, you already have the power to make a fantastic movie, just keep going and don't stop there.

The graphics of Paper Mario are excellent, and I would have scored this higher if it was longer.

Gofthick-animation responds:

i had to keep it within 20 - 40 seconds as over 20 artists are doing this, to host anything longer would be a bitch

Not the best I've seen...

For one thing, your graphics need serious improvement. I couldn't tell if that was a car or a funny looking bike at the end, and most of the other drawings were pretty crudely drawn. Perhaps using the paintbrush tool for characters and line tool for furnature, buildings and other stright objects might be better than relying on the pencil tool. I know drawing with a mouse can be hard at times but I've seen plenty of good Flash work that used a mouse and still had pretty good looking drawings.

I really didn't understand the storyline either. Some guy leaves Africa and then goes to Atlanta, and then what happens after that? Also, I found it odd to a put a piece of Elton John's "Rocketman" right in the middle of the Flash for 4 seconds for really no good reason.

Your FPS could have definitely been higher as well, since it clearly seems you're running it around 12 when it should be around 20-30 if you want smoother animation. Some of your airplanes and "cars" were running pretty slow and were even skipping at that slow rate.

Make your FPS higher if you're going to have a lot of animation, definitely put in more detail and work on the graphics. If you want something to look like a car, at least look at a picture of a car while you're drawing it. Believe me, it helps. Get some good voiceovers for your characters and you'll be well on your way to making a really good Flash.

FiveStar responds:

ofcourse it wasn't "the best". but, no. i wouldn't believe any shit you say because you don't even have a batting average, while da only flash of yours that's passed is a shitty sprite. the animation was apparently smooth enough to pass and the reason why you didn't understand it because itstead of watching the flash, you were sticking a pencil up your ass.

Not. Funny. At. All.

No, this was bad, and it wasn't creative either. I get turned off by tasteless shape tweening rather easily, and long and behold, that's all this movie was about. Congratulations, you made me hate shape tweening even more.

TO EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW, SHAPE TWEENING IS EASY TO DO, AND NONE OF THOSE EFFECTS WERE DONE BY THE AUTHOR, THEY ARE DONE BY THE PROGRAM!!!

Well, with that said, just about anyone can pump this kind of thing out. Use tweening as a tool, but not as a crutch. You used it like a wheelchair here. This award SHOULD have gone out to a Flash that was well done but not well respected. Problem is, this wasn't well done. This could be done in an hour by just about any Flash animator out there.

FiveStar responds:

"This could be done in an hour by just about any Flash animator out there." - no it can't. swish max sucks cock and kool moves does as well. it is a great aspect of macromedia flash......

Please go back to Madness

Sorry, but I found this a bit disappointing. Animation is smooth and very nice looking, but it's awfully short and pretty pointless. I respect you greatly for your awesome Madness flashes, and to come across this after you achieved so much is nonetheless a bit of a letdown. Sorry, but that's just the way I feel. I was hoping you would try to go above and beyond the awesome work that you've already done, and show us something really new and impressive. Despite that, you're still one of my favorite Flash artists and I have enjoyed the work that you've done before, but I really can't include this in my list of favorite Flash movies.

I'm not saying it's awful, but its nothing much compared to the work you've already done and what we've already seen that you were capable of.

Krinkels responds:

Hey, just because I made a half decent video one time doesn't mean I can't screw around once in a while.

I'm glad you like Madness though! MadnessCombat 5 will be coming out here eventually, this was just a diversion for me, really.

Nicely done!

Now continue it. The 3D environment and the characters you've created look outstanding. My only complain is that it's short, but that won't be a problem if you keep it going.

Violet-AIM responds:

Thanks RazorDragon. Well the problem I have is how to bring a 3D animation into flash, while at the same time trying to keep it as low file size as possible. At 3.3MB, my flash was already crashing, so I had no choice but to stop. But I can always have a continuation in 3D if I wanted to, since this is only part of the story, just what I could fit in one .swf file.

I hate you

Stop making these crappy movies, I can tell you're trying to get Turd of the Week on purpose. Do something good and usefull with your knowledge of Flash, but don't keep doing something crappy like this.

cram-it responds:

Not true, you mean spirited SWINE. I just wanted to make the many fans of the series happy for a change. So they have an alternative to all the odius, pompous, self indulgent tripe like "Star Wars Gangsta Rap".

What the hell

Pathetic, there's no animation in this whatsoever. You could do something like this in Microsoft Powerpoint, you don't even need flash. Even with my limited knowledge of Flash, I already know I can do something better than this. Thanks for the motivation.

Fortman responds:

You're welcome! Glad to have a fan. You're more than free to donate to my cause.

Pretty damn funny

It's not the funniest thing I've ever seen, but it is quite decent. Birds really are whack, my family owns three of them and they practially need to make a turd every five seconds.

Regardless, nice job on the animation. I like seeing quality Flash work.

mikethepod responds:

The birds were based on eyewitness accounts (the squirrel too). As for those pseudo-geese, the one on the far right has peanut butter on his beak. This is from real life recently, when my friend tried to calm crazy geese with Ritz Bitz Sandwiches. Thank you very much for the great review!

Damn you're good.

This is one hot Flash. Sweet job, man how I wish I could do Flash like that, but I don't have the time. That was killer, I'd love to see more if you have the ambition.

Evil-Dog responds:

I do have the ambition but like you, I don't have the time I wish I had.
Stay tuned and thanks.

Yep, I'm on XBox Live as "RazorDragon.' I accept all friend invites.
